The Talent Department of the Madaras School and Talent Centre is proud to bring you the 2022 Edition of the Madaras Tournament. This annual tournament brings together the local community and showcases local talent in sports, dancing, board games, and various other activities.
This year’s edition will kick off on Friday, 16th December 2022 and reach its conclusion on the 23rd of December. The Madaras tournament will be held at the Madaras School and Talent Centre and is a part of the school’s Talent Development program. The school is located in Nyatike West Sub-County, Migori County. We are a twenty-minute drive from Karungu town, on the shores of L. Victoria.
Previous editions of this tournament have attracted large crowds of spectators, well-wishers, participants, supporters and a wide range of talent from all over the country. Events that take place during the tournament bond the local community together, and encourage cooperation, teamwork, and talent development. The participants in various activities are not only drawn from the local community, but also from teams from all around the country. Every day of the tournament often attracts up to 5,000 people, with the final day attracting thousands more.
Among the activities that will take place will be:
- Tag of war
- Ajua
- Draughts
- Chess
- Chanting
- Beauty contests
- Table tennis
- Darts
- Cross country
- Sack races
- Dancing
- Eating competitions
- Bicycle races.
The centrepiece of the tournament, however, is football. There will be a men’s football event, a women’s football event, and an under-15 boy’s football event.
The men’s football event will have a maximum of 32 teams registered on a first-come, first-served basis. The women’s football event will have a maximum of 8 teams, and the Boys’ football Under-15 will also have a maximum of 8.

Winner: KES 100,000
2nd Place: KES 70,000
3rd Place: KES 50,000
4th Place: KES 30,000
All Quarter Finalists: KES 10,000
Round of 16 Qualifiers: KES 5,000
By setting up the Talent Department of our school we ensure that talent development is continuously developed, nurtured and showcased. This tournament is a culmination of years of input, effort, commitment, community goodwill and support from dozens of development partners, leaders and visionaries. We are grateful for the continued support, as we work diligently towards ensuring that young, talented and gifted people get an opportunity to make the best out of who they are.
